Delonte West hits rock bottom: he finds himself begging on the street

The former NBA player suffers from bipolar disorder and has had problems with drugs. In January of this year, he was arrested by the police.

Delonte West's present is bleak ... to put it mildly. The former NBA player was found on the streets of Dallas asking for money at a stoplight, according to a photo published by TMZ. It is the latest episode of the fall from grace of a former member of the League.

Last January, he jumped into the media after two videos were published: in one, he suffered a brutal beating in the middle of the road; in the other, recorded by a police officer, in which the former player was seen sitting and handcuffed on the sidewalk. The policeman was suspended after spreading the images. In 2016, he had already been seen on the streets of Maryland wandering like a homeless person

West suffers from bipolar disorder diagnosed in 2009 and drug addiction problems. And both the Players Guild, his former Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers, and former teammates at his college (like Jameer Nelson, also a former NBA), are trying to seek help to get West out of this black hole. His basketball career

West, 37, came to the NBA from St. Joseph and drafted by the Boston Celtics (24) in 2004. After the green franchise, he played in Seattle, Cleveland (with LeBron) and Dallas after a brief return to Massachusetts. He also played in China and Venezuela. According to Basketball Reference, he signed contracts worth almost $ 17 million in his eight seasons in the North American League.
