City expands its empire and buys French Troyes

The French team has today become the tenth acquisition of City Football Group, with the aim of developing young people and promoting the academy.


The City Football Group, a franchise led by Manchester City, announced today the purchase of the entire ESTAC Troyes, a team that plays in the French second division and which becomes the tenth acquisition of the group that currently runs the Spanish businessman Ferran Soriano.

"City Football Group announces that French Ligue 2's Esperance Sportive Troyes Aube Champagne becomes their 10th club, following DNCG review of the acquisition. This increases CFG's continued investment within world football in its strategy to develop clubs, young talents and share knowledge among them ", reads the statement issued a few minutes ago by City Football Group.

Troyes has become the tenth team acquired by the English company, after Manchester City, New York City, Melbourne City, Yokohama Marinos, Girona, Montevideo City Torque, Sichuan Jiuniu, Mumbai and Lommel. The objective of the Gran Este team is to be promoted this season to Ligue 1.
