Augsburg become provisional leader of the Bundesliga

Augsburg, on the contrary, liquidated Favre's team. Uduokhai and Caligiuri scored. Reinier played the last twenty minutes, but went unnoticed.

Augsburg, awaiting what the almighty Bayern Munich does on Sunday against Hoffenheim, is the new leader of the Bundesliga. The always rocky team led by Heiko Herrlich gave the surprise on the second day of the German top competition and beat poor Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at the WWK Arena. Neither the power of Haaland nor the talent of Sancho were able to stop an FCA that added the second victory of the season and placed at the top of the table.

The start was for Lucien Favre's pupils. The black-yellows managed to get hold of the leather and harassed until Augsburg decided to pull muscle. The Bavarian team began to win the decisive duels in the center of the field and, little by little, they settled in the rival field. With five minutes to go, Uduokhai headed a free-kick from Caligiuri into the back of the net and left Borussia in shock. He did not recover in a second half in which the locals were once again superior and sentenced the crash through Caligiuri himself.

The FCA is leading because the great match of the day between Leipzig and Leverkusen ended in a draw. The team led by Julian Nagelsmann, with the uninspired Dani Olmo in the eleven, took the lead thanks to a left-footed shot from Forsberg that immediately woke Leverkusen. The aspirin pool shook and managed to tie the shock at six minutes. Diaby took advantage of a slip by Angeliño, stopped Gulacsi, but the rejection of the Spanish ended up again at Demirbay's feet. He did not think about it and scored a real goal from 20 meters. The Leverkusen deserved more in the final stage, but the Rhenish lacked aim.

In the rest of the games, it is worth noting the 1-1 draw between Unión de Berlin and Gladbach, who still did not get their first three points of the season after the 3-0 defeat at the start against Dortmund. Stuttgart hit the table after coming back from Mainz's initial goal and thrashing Achim Beierlorzer's 4-1. The recently promoted Bielefeld experienced his first joy on his return to the Bundesliga and beat an unfortunate Cologne 1-0 who still has not released their points locker.
