Sheyla Gutiérrez returns the smile to the Movistar Team

The Movistar from La Rioja won La Périgord after a sensational attack in the last kilometers that allowed her to cross the Boulazac goal alone.

The women's Movistar Team added another victory after the restart of the competition - the second after Katrine Aalerud's first place in the Norwegian Time Trial Championship - thanks to the sensational triumph of Sheyla Gutiérrez in La Périgord, a 100-kilometer test starting in Cornillé and finish in Boulazac.

The Rioja was filled with courage to launch a powerful attack 20 kilometers from the finish line, after her team controlled much of the race. He entered the final circuit of the Côte de Bauchaux, of almost two kilometers and through which he passed four times, in a group of eight cyclists. It wasn't until the last lap that Sheyla tried it again, leaving all her rivals behind and crossing the finish line alone.

At 26, Gutiérrez achieved his ninth victory at the UCI level, and the second for the Movistar Team in the year. The next objective of the Rioja will be this Friday in Jaén, when she will try to repeat the title in the Spanish Time Trial Championship.
