Rowland wins without favorites

Da Costa, Vergne, Di Grassi and Buemi came out last due to an error in qualifying and the Briton won ahead of Frijns and Rast.

Da Costa was in charge of revealing the great unknown long before the end. Who would be the new champion of Formula E? It was the Portuguese, official with two races to go but predictable since he arrived in Berlin. Thus, for the last two tests of this intense closing of the season there was no longer the excitement of the jackpot, although that does not mean the show is over. Here there always is and this time the protagonists were not the most common. Rowland took the victory (and second place in the standings) with Frijns and Rast on the podium.

It was the strangest race of all that have been contested so far in Berlin, and not only because the title was already awarded, but because of the circuit (the modified version of Tempelhof) and because of the grid ... Because a group of favorites of four units (Da Costa, Vergne, Buemi and Di Grassi), started from the queue after making a serious miscalculation in qualifying and not being able to set a time. That gave prominence to others less accustomed to playing lead actors such as Rowland, Frijns and Jani, the top three on the grid.

And so they remained when the traffic light went out and a small pile was mounted behind between Buemi and De Vries that KOed Guenther and touched Bird. The bad news for the most prominent names on the grid would not end there because Vergne fell further behind for being sanctioned with a Drive Trough for an anomalous behavior of the battery of his Techeetah (overcooling) and Di Grassi suffered the same when suffering from a puncture after touching Da Costa (which did not end) that would later cost him another sanction.

While things were agitated behind, the front was more stabilized, especially in the first two positions, which did not cease to be in the hands of Rowland and Frijns until the finish line, without Virgin's being able to put a wheel to that of Nissan in no time. More fought was the third place, which went to Lotterer after a Porsche duel with Jani and Rast won on the last lap in a fiery fight with his compatriot. Now, there is only one more left in Berlin.
