Pita Orsato, who 'eliminated' Sevilla twice in the Champions League

The Italian, referee against Wolves, expelled Samir Nasri against Leicester and a year later delivered justice against Bayern in the first leg of the quarter (1-2).

Italian Daniele Orsato, 44, will be in charge of refereeing Wolverhampton Wanderers-Sevilla in the quarterfinals of the Europa League, this Tuesday in Duisburg. Interestingly, Orsato was present in the last two eliminations of the Nervión team in the Champions League, against Bayern in 2018 and against Leicester in 2017.

The transalpine referee whistled the second leg of the Champions League against the English club in a match that will be remembered for his expulsion to Frenchman Samir Nasri and having later signaled a penalty that meant the final 2-0, after a 2-1 in the first leg of the Sánchez Pizjuán. A year later he would referee the first leg of the quarterfinals against the Bavarian team at the white and red stadium, which ended with 1-2. Sevilla then tied in Munich (0-0) to be eliminated.

Not all memories with Orsato are bad. In 2015 he was in charge of delivering justice against Villarreal in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16. The 1-3 served Sevilla to channel the tie and go to the quarterfinals after a 2-1 in Nervión, which would precede the fourth wound of the second continental competition, the second in a series of three in a row.
