Papanikolau (Olympiacos) tests positive for COVID-19

The forward, formerly of Barcelona, tested positive before the start of the season. He is the first player of the Greek team with coronavirus.


Greek basketball Olympiacos international Kostas Papanikolau has tested positive for COVID-19 conducted during preparations for the upcoming season.

According to the club reported this Saturday, the forward is the first player of the rojiblanco team to test positive for coronavirus.

The 30-year-old international made his debut in 2008 at the Aris de Thessaloniki, where in that same season he was named MVP of the All Star of the Helena league and best young player of that competition.

A year later he signed for Olympiacos, with whom he won the Euroleague twice.

In 2013 he was transferred to Barcelona and a year later he signed in the NBA with the Houston Rockets.
