Official: Óscar Rodríguez signs with Sevilla for five years

The Seville club announces the agreement for the attacker. Real Madrid reserves 25% of the player's chip, which comes in exchange for about 15 million.

Sevilla announced this afternoon the signing of Óscar Rodríguez, who signs for five seasons in exchange for some fifteen million euros. Real Madrid keeps 25% of the player's record, who at 22 intends to make a qualitative leap in his career by not having a gap in the Madrid team's plans. His good work at Leganés during his last year on loan invited the interest of numerous teams, although the team from Talavera de la Reina always showed his desire to join the project led by Monchi and Lopetegui.

It is a multipurpose piece that will reinforce the nervous attack zone. Lopetegui wins an important trick for the set piece and also many alternatives for any of his attacking positions. It will cover some of the needs left by Banega's departure, although it is expected that a more controlled midfield will arrive in Nervión that can also bring creativity to the Sevilla team.

Óscar Rodríguez began his journey at Real Madrid in 2009 and now represents one more operation in the massive departure plan for the Madrid team this summer. He played 64 games and scored 13 goals during his two-season loan at Leganés, which has helped him get Monchi's attention and jump into a Champions League project next season. He had made his debut in the Real Madrid first team at the hands of Zinedine Zidane before going on loan, but it was not in the French coach's plans for next year. After Oscar, in Nervión it is expected that Ivan Rakitic could be the next to land.
