Honda on Marquez: "It will be between two and three months before Marc can return"

Repsol Honda has issued a statement in which it announces that the champion is not expected to reappear in the September races.

The Repsol Honda team has issued a statement announcing that "it will be between two and three months before Marc Márquez can return to the RC213V". In other words, the champion will not reappear in the three races scheduled in September, as a result of the fracture suffered in the humerus of the right arm, which underwent surgery twice. The first was on Tuesday, July 21, which did not prevent him from getting back into his Honda four days later, again in Jerez, but landing on qualifying. The second operation was after the plate was broken opening a window at home, a week after the previous operation. Since then, she has been low in the second Jerez race, the Brno race and the two in Austria. At the moment he has four zeros, 67 points behind the general leader, Quartararo, and he will continue to accumulate zeros in the next races, so this year there will be a different champion.

The statement reads like this: "Marc Márquez will continue to recover in the coming weeks. The MotoGP world champion and HRC have consulted and compared the opinions of various specialists regarding the injury to the humerus of the right arm that Marc suffered on July 19 at the Spanish GP. As a result, all parties have decided to modify the planned recovery process. The objective of both Márquez and the Repsol Honda Team is to return to the World Championship when Marc's arm has fully recovered from the serious injury suffered in Jerez. It is estimated that it will take between two and three months before Marc can return to the RC213V. HRC has not set a GP for the return of the current world champion and will continue to report on the evolution of his recovery ".

Alberto Puig, team manager of the team, also spoke in that statement: "Much has been said about Marc's recovery and the different deadlines, but from the first day after the second operation we have said that the only objective that exists is that is at one hundred percent. We don't want to rush. Once Marc is in a position to go back and compete at the level he knows, we will think about the next goal ".
