Ganea signs two years with Aris de Thessaloniki

This Friday he closed his signing for the powerful Greek club after rescinding last Tuesday with Athletic. He will play the Europa League after not counting for Garitano. He will wear the number 22.

The immediate future of Cristian Ganea was approaching the Aris of Thessaloniki in negotiations that have come to fruition this Friday as scheduled. A very well focused agreement that has resulted in the already ex-lion joining, as AS announced, in a classic Greek football and continental concert for the next two seasons. Gaizka Garitano did not have the Romanian left-back, so on Tuesday he rescinded the contract that bound him to the Ibaigane club until June 2021.

Ganea, who was returning to Bilbao from his assignment at Viitorul de Hagi, handled tests for several Leagues, specifically from Austria, Poland and Italy, although Aris from Thessaloniki had shown special interest and contacts have been accelerated until signing two years like his new left-back. A squad that will play in the Europa League this season next season after its fifth place in the League. A leading club that trains Thodoros Karipidis and that sees Ganea as a natural substitute in the left lane of the Hungarian Mihaly Korhut, who has returned to his country to sign for Debreceni. It will wear the number 22 and seeks to vindicate itself in the First Greek and in the European showcase.

The left-back's priority, which in principle was to find accommodation in the Spanish Second Division, had not been crystallized. Some of the clubs surveyed favor more defensive left-backs. Ganea's offensive and carefree style, who has a cannon on his left foot, has caught the attention of the Aris, supported by his notable references in the Romanian First Division under Hagi. In Athletic he barely had two skipped games and a handful of friendlies, with two assignments to Numancia and Viitorul without being able to triumph near his Basauri of adoption.
