Five asymptomatic positives in Montakit Fuenlabrada

"All are in isolation, following the corresponding protocols," said the Madrid club. In the Endesa League, there are four other teams with positives.

The Montakit Fuenlabrada has detected five positives for COVID-19 in the PCR tests that the players of the first team and the coaching staff underwent before the start of the preseason, as reported this Sunday by the Madrid team of the Endesa League.

"All of them are asymptomatic and are in isolation, following the corresponding protocols," explained the Madrid team through their official profile on the social network Twitter.

Fuenlabrada explained that it has taken preventive measures regarding the rest of the workforce that has tested negative and has transferred the information to both the competent authorities and the Association of Basketball Clubs (ACB).

The Madrid team had planned to start the pre-season training next week, ahead of a 2020-21 Endesa League which is scheduled to start in mid-September.

Four other positives in other Endesa League clubs

Montakit Fuenlabrada's positives are not the first reported by an Endesa League club in recent days. Movistar Estudiantes, Coosur Betis and Iberostar Tenerife also have asymptomatic cases - one for each team. In the case of Herbalife Gran Canaria, someone from the coaching staff also tested positive in a PCR prior to returning to training.
