Cerny is the strongest on the clock and takes the lead

The Czech won the third stage of the Tour de Poitou Charentes against the clock, ousting the French Gougeard and Démare.

Czech Josef Cerny (CCC) is the new leader of the Tour de Poitou Charentes after winning the second sector of the third stage, a 22-kilometer time trial between Futuroscope and Jaunay-Marigny. Cerny set a time of 26.01 minutes, beating the French Alexis Gougeard (AG2R La Mondiale) and Arnaud Démare (Groupama-FDJ) in 17 and 21 seconds respectively.

This victory sees Cerny donning the leader's jersey, so he will face the last 164.6 kilometer day between Thénezay and Poitiers with a 1 second advantage over Démare and 20 over the American Joey Rosskopf (CCC) .
