The British Elizabeth Deignan (Trek-Segafredo), winner of the GP Plouay last Tuesday, has won the seventh edition of La Course by Le Tour held in Nice with a route of 96 kilometers. In a group of 6 riders who competed for the victory, Deignan was the fastest, and with a time of 2h.22.51 she prevailed ahead of the Dutch Marianne Vos (CCC-Liv) and Demi Vollering (Parkhotel Valkenburg) .

Crowned European champion this week, Annemiek van Vleuten (Mitchelton-SCOTT) was unable to compete with her rivals in the final sprint and took fifth place. The tour was dominated by a group of the most select composed of Marianne Vos, Annemiek van Vleuten, Elizabeth Deignan, Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo), Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Canyon SRAM) and Demi Vollering (Parkhotel-Valkenburg). The favorite was Marianne Vos, but she was narrowly surprised by Elizabeth Deignan in the final sprint, who thus won La Course by Le Tour for the first time.
