Artigas accentuates the leadership in the Moto3 Junior in Jerez

In the first Moto3 race, the victory went to the Spanish Izan Guevara, José Julián García prevailed in the second and Artigas went on to lead the contest. Montella added the sixth in Moto2.


Spanish Xavier Artigas accentuated his leadership in the Moto3 Junior World Championship this Sunday, a category attached to the FIM-CEV Repsol event that this weekend played the fourth scoring round at the Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit.

In the first race of the Moto3 Junior World Championship, the victory went to the Spanish Izan Guevara, who preceded the leader Artigas, second in the test ahead of his rival in the fight for the leadership of the event, his compatriot Pedro Acosta, who was third, the organization reported.

Guevara achieved the victory in a disputed race by overtaking his immediate pursuer on the 'Jorge Lorenzo' curve, the last on the Jerez track before heading to the finish line.

José Julián García won the second race, followed by Guevara in second position and by Acosta in third.

Artigas goes on to lead the contest with 98 points for Acosta's 77, which is second.

The Italian Yari Montella won the Moto2 European Championship event, with which he has achieved six victories out of six in the races held so far in the contest, being the undisputed leader with 150 points.

Finn Niki Tuuli, who finished second in the race, is also second in the general classification with 116 points, ahead of Italian Alessandro Zaccone, third with 88.

In this Sunday's test, Spaniard Alejandro Medina finished third, behind Montella and Tuuli.

In the European Talent Cup, the Dutch Zonta Van den Goorbergh took the victory, ahead of the Colombian David Alonso, who was second, and the Spanish Iván Ortolá, third.

The Colombian Alonso, winner of Saturday's race, is the leader of the contest with 140 points, the Spanish Alberto Fernández occupying the second position, with 88
