The Board of Directors of Circuits de Catalunya SL has ratified this Friday the appointments of Maria Teixidor as president and Josep Lluís Santamaría as general director of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

These positions, which were proposed by the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia, have been ratified and, thus, Maria Teixidor takes over from Vicenç Aguilera, who was president of the Circuit until February 2020. Josep Lluís Santamaría adopts the position that from the In 2015, Joan Fontserè was the CEO.

Maria Teixidor, graduated in Law from Pompeu Fabra University, is a lawyer and mediator specialized in intellectual and industrial property, license management and intangible rights and Compliance.

Her professional career has been developed in companies such as Vuca Solutions or the Roca Junyent office, and she is also the creator of legal technological tools (LegalTech) for companies, organizations and for the educational field.

In the field of sport, between 2015 and 2020 she has been part of the Board of Directors of the Futbol Club Barcelona, where she has held positions as the Secretary, responsible for women's football or the Vice President and Secretary of the Foundation. He is also a member of the Board of the Association for the United Nations in Spain.

On the other hand, Josep Lluís Santamaría has a degree in Geology from the University of Barcelona and a master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention, and his professional career has been developed in the world of consulting and studies for construction.

In the field of sport, Santamaría is a motoring officer with more than 30 years of experience, and has been linked to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya since its inauguration in 1991, where he has directed races and where he is part of the Commission of sports follow-up.

Santamaría, who is also vice president of the Federació Catalana d'Automobilisme (FCA), is president of the motoring officers of both the FCA and the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation.
