How much money does Jon Rahm take after his historic victory?

Jon Rahm achieved the victory in the Memorial Tournament which places him, for the first time in his career, as leader of the world ranking. We review the awards.

Jon Rahm accomplished the historic feat of ascending to the top of the world rankings after winning the Ohio Memorial Tournament, one of the tournaments outside the majors and the one that awards the most prize money. With his victory, the Basque, new leader in the ranking, pocketed around 1.5 million euros (€ 1.46M), according to GolfWorld. Being an invitation-only event on the PGA Tour, it is a prestigious and closed tournament where the best in the world are, as it has been.

Rahm finished with a close of 75 on Sunday, which included two additional penalty strokes he received after the round ended. The reason was that, as he was preparing to hit the 16th hole, his ball moved slightly before hitting. Even with the penalty, he still defeated Ryan Palmer, second classified who pocketed almost 900,000 euros, with three strokes difference from the Spanish.
