Official: Óscar renews for two seasons with Celta

The club certified an agreement that has been closed for several days. The continuity of the Catalan coach is not contingent on remaining in First Division.

El Celta has made official this morning the renewal of Óscar García, who went to the facilities of A Sede first to sign the contract that binds him to the Olympic entity for the next two seasons, until June 2022. This renewal, agreed from days ago, it is not subject to permanence in the First Division.

In this way, the olívico set gives stability to a bench that had become in recent months an authentic electric chair. The arrival of Óscar in November, in a complicated situation, meant a change of direction to make a more compact set with a clear game idea. After losing at the Camp Nou, Celta was four points from permanence and today has a seven-point cushion with the relegation zone.

The connection with the changing room and the stands has also been important. In social networks, the consensus of Celtism for the continuity of Óscar could be seen in recent days. In fact, given the delay in the official announcement of its renewal, quite a few critical voices emerged with the directive. Óscar García has managed to unite Celtism around an idea of game that convinces and generates optimism. Within the locker room there is also unanimity around the Catalan style and the directive, as this renovation shows, is happy with the way it works.

With Nolito already in the squad and Renato Tapia and Vadillo already closed, the coach will be able to make a squad this summer to his liking. The idea is to play the next course with open ends in a 4-3-3. However, the main objective of the sports management will be to achieve the continuity of Murillo and Rafinha, a mission that seemed impossible a few weeks ago.
