Landa made clear the idea of "getting to the Tour in very good shape" and maintaining the level from start to finish.

"This year, the Tour is very mountainous. There will be very nervous stages from the first week, it will be necessary to arrive in very good shape and hold out until the end. We have time and we will not arrive tired to the appointment" .

Landa's preparation for the Tour will begin with a recognition of the alpine stages and then a concentration of altitude in Andorra. He will compete again in the Vuelta a Burgos from July 28 to August 1, he won the test in 2017.

"I would like the initial plan of the team to be to run to win the Tour, and if everything goes well take advantage of the opportunity that has been given to me. If I am the leader and I have a team ready to help me both in the good and the bad times, I hope to be ahead ".

In Landa's plans is to compete in the Dauphiné from August 12 to 16, a regular test that serves as a general rehearsal for the Tour, which this year includes "five very demanding stages" that the Basque rider considers a good touchstone.
