Gran Canaria retains one of its stars: Matt Costello

The Canarian team renews the center for the next two seasons. In this final phase, Valencia has averaged 14.3 points and 8.8 rebounds.

Herbalife Gran Canaria has reached an agreement with the American center Matt Costello to renew his contract for two more campaigns, until the end of the 2021-2022 season, as reported by the club.

Matt Costello (Linwood, Michigan, 1993) arrived at Herbalife Gran Canaria last summer from the Italian team Sidigas Avellino, having completed a remarkable performance in the United States Summer League with the Detroit Pistons.

Already wearing the yellow shirt, he has been the team's starting center in 25 of the 27 games he has played, averaging 11.4 points and 7.3 rebounds, with good shooting percentages.

In the final phase of the Endesa League in Valencia, Costello has so far been one of the stars of the tournament with 14.3 points and 8.8 rebounds on average.

He stood out especially in the match against Real Madrid, in which he managed 23 points and 7 rebounds only in the first half.
