Ten Valencian surnames in the Levante-Valencia derby

Nine players of both teams were born or raised (Toño) in the Comunitat, in addition to the Barca coach, Paco López.

The derby of the city of Valencia will also have many protagonists of the earth. In total, nine football players plus coach Paco López have been born or raised since childhood in the Valencian Community and this afternoon they will participate in the Valencian football festival.

There will be ten Valencian surnames in the city classic. On the part of Levante, in addition to Paco López, a native of Silla, Roger (Valencia) and Rochina (Sagunto) are cited. Toño, born in Alcalá de Henares but who moved to Valencia, with one year, can also be considered Valencian. Curiously, none of the three youth players who have been called by Paco López (Pereira, Eliseo and Pablo Martínez) was born in the Community.

On the other hand, one third of the 18 mentioned by Albert Celades are Valencians: three from the province of Valencia, two from Alicante and one from Castellón. Jaume (Almenara), Gayà (Pedreguer), Jaume Costa (Valencia), Carlos Soler (Valencia), Esquerdo (Calpe) and Ferran (Foyos) are the representatives of the Valencian Community in the Orriols derby.
