Madrid rejuvenates five years in just two months

Before Bruges, the two faces of this Madrid have been seen: from the oldest (29.6 years), to the youngest (24.9). Two XI headlines unprecedented in the 2019-2020 season.

The future of Real Madrid has anticipated what is marked on its road map. The Bruges has been the team that has verified the transformation of the eleven holder of Zidane. The Belgians visited the Bernabéu on October 1 (2-2) against a Madrid with a 'veteran' average of 29.6 years (the highest of the season). Last Wednesday, Bruges himself received the whites and the opposite was the case: the lowest age index of this course (24.9 years). A registry that reinforces Madrid as a club that buys early talent.

Areola (26 years old), Mendy (24), Varane (26), Militao (21), Odriozola (23), Casemiro (27), Modric (34), Isco (27), Vinicius (19), Rodrygo (18) and Jovic (21) improved the 25.7 years of average age registered with Osasuna (September 25). An inconsequential match opened the rotation period in the starting lineup for the youngsters to take a step forward. It was the case of Militao, Mendy, Vinicius and Rodrygo. Jovic did not take advantage of his showcase.

The evolution of the team has been progressive in age: in the first meeting of the season those of Zidane had an average of 28.5 years before Celta. An average that had its negative cap against Bruges (29.6). Madrid has begun to collect the fruits of youth. First against Osasuna (2-0), then against Espanyol (2-0) and then against Bruges (1-3). A triplet of victories that reinforces the club's policy of hiring young talent.

Present and future

Madrid has 11 Under-23 players in ownership: Lunin (20 years old), Odriozola (23), Militao (21), Valverde (21), Vinicius (19), Rodrygo (18), Asensio (23), Brahim (20), Odegaard (20), Jovic (21) and Kubo (18). Barcelona, which played nothing against Inter, also opted for young talents such as Todibo (19), Aleñá (21), Wagué (21), Júnior (23) and Carles Pérez (21). Despite this strong commitment, the average age of eleven culé was 25.7 years. A higher average in seniority than that of Madrid.

The duo that most excites Real Madrid is the one formed by Rodrygo and Vinicius. They are the fashion couple of European football. Both players scored against Bruges and recorded a new record in Madrid in a scenario as important as the Champions League: for the first time in the entire history of the Champions League, two children under 20 scored a goal in the same match with the shirt Real Madrid

One of the big bets, still in formation, is that of Odegaard. His arrival in Madrid (January 2015) kicked off other signings with the same business model: Federico Valverde (May 2015), Vinicius (May 2017), Rodrygo (June 2018), Lunin (June 2018) and Kubo (June 2019). This Madrid wants promises to learn from veterans: Ramos, Modric or Benzema are still key.
