Sam Bennett leaves the Bora and approaches the Deceuninck Quick-Step

The German team announced the departure of the Irish runner this Thursday through a statement. Everything indicates that next season will run in the Deceuninck Quick-Step.

Bora-Hansgrohe announced Thursday that Irish cyclist Sam Bennett will not run with them next season. Through a statement the German sturgery has announced that the cyclist and the team have separated their paths by mutual agreement.

In the statement the Bora-Hansgrohe highlights the great successes achieved with Bennett but also the recent difficulties to match the team's schedule with that of the cyclist. "It has become increasingly difficult to align the goals of the team and the runner."

In this way Sam Bennett ends a stage of six successful years in the German team, where he has become one of the best sprinters in the world winning stages in prestigious events such as the Paris-Nice and the Binck Bank Tour as well as shining in the sprints of great laps such as the Giro d'Italia (won three stages in 2018) or the Vuelta a España, winning two stages in this edition.

In this way Bennett has a free way to sign for the Deceuninck Quick-Step in a signing that the Belgian media advanced last week and that would reinforce the team in the mass arrivals after the departure of Elia Viviani to Cofidis.
