FIFA sanctions CBF president Ricardo Teixeira for life for bribery

The former president of the CBF and former member of the FIFA executive committee is credited with violating the ethical code of the governing body of world football during the period 2006-2012.


The FIFA Ethics Committee confirmed this Friday the "lifelong" suspension of the former president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) Ricardo Teixeira, who must also pay a fine of one million Swiss francs (about 908,000 euros) for bribery .

The former member of the CONMEBOL executive committee, former president of the CBF and former member of the FIFA executive committee are credited with violating the ethical code of the governing body of world football during the period 2006-2012, for "bribes in the award of contracts audiovisual and marketing competitions of the CBF, CONMEBOL and Concacaf ", according to a statement sent by FIFA.

The Ethics Committee decided to suspend "for life" Ricardo Teixeira from any activity related to football, nationally and internationally. In addition, you must pay a fine of one million Swiss francs (about 908,000 euros) .
