The Plaza 3x3 CaixaBank circuit closes 2019 exceeding 42,000 participants

The nine stops of the 2019 edition, which closed last Saturday, October 19 in Seville, have raised the numbers to more than 42,000 participants and 200,000 visitors.

Organized by the FEB for new years and promoted by CaixaBank since 2013, the Plaza 3x3 CaixaBank circuit has closed its ninth edition raising its numbers to more than 42,000 participants and 200,000 visitors, also exceeding 10,530 registered teams and 17,000 games disputed in their basketball days on the street.The 2019 route has held stops in emblematic enclaves of Ávila (Plaza de Santa Teresa), Melilla (Plaza de España), Logroño (Sports Center Titín III), Pamplona (Plaza del Castillo), Palma (Moll Vell), Cartagena (Town Hall Square), Santiago de Compostela (Obradoiro Square), Bilbao (Guggenheim Esplanade) and Seville (San Francisco Square). The record of the year was recorded in Pamplona, where there were more than 1,500 players distributed in 310 teams of all categories and a total of 420 games played. In addition, in this 2019 edition, 27,500 visitors have been exceeded, 16% more than in 2018. Female participation has also been notable, with more than 31% of players. The initiation clinics have had almost 1,500 registered, and more than 2,350 boys and girls have participated in the skills and shooting competitions. In every day, in addition, the 3x3 Plaza CaixaBank has had the support and collaboration of the institutions local, as well as the Autonomous Federations and their provincial delegations. In all of them have participated teams of volunteers attached to the FEB-CaixaBank Volunteer Program, which this year have been 229, thus exceeding 1,500 since the creation of the program.In this 2019 edition they have once again been daily free basketball days and for all the ages, from pre-mini to senior, in which for more than 7 hours it has been possible to enjoy competition, fun and conviviality, in which the visits of the FEB ambassadors, former international players Fernando Romay and Iñaki have not been missing Miguel, who have entertained the stops with competitions and clinics, and for the day in Seville the former captain of the National Team Carlos Jiménez has been incorporated for the first time.In the last editions, the circuit has had the CaixaBank track as a reference , place where the men's finals have been played. For its part, the Universo Mujer track, a project led by the FEB and CaixaBank for the promotion and dissemination of the role of women in society through the values given off by athletes, has hosted all the women's finals.
