The Eurofra failures of the market

De Ligt, Maguire, Pépé, Ndombelé, Rabiot, Malcom or Mkhitaryan leave doubts after their club changes last summer. They play badly, little or are injured.

The summer market left millionaire transfers that after the first two months of competition are proving to be a fiasco. Players called to be indispensable in their new clubs that are not even being fixed holders, either by injury or by technical decision. We review some of the most popular cases

From Ligt (Juve). The great central defense of the future, signed by Juventus from Ajax in exchange for 85.5 million. It is difficult to maintain the level offered last season in the whole ajaccied. Some goal in own door, many doubts and even some substitution for a player of only 20 years but with a lot of pressure on. He has played five Serie A matches and two Champions. He has seen two yellow

Maguire (United). The most expensive defense in history (87 million) fails to give United the authority that was presupposed and with which he so stood out earlier in the Leicester. Undisputed holder in a team that has signed the worst start in 30 years and is currently 12th in the Premier. He has not yet been able to score in any single ball action, another of his great strengths. He remains in the back row of England, although the pross lost with him in this break his first qualifying game in a decade.

Pepe (Arsenal). The Lille transferred to the Ivorian for 80 million to Arsenal. Far from becoming one of the stars of the Unai Emery set, Pépé is showing its most timorata version as one of the team's extremes. He already made a very discreet African Cup in July. With Arsenal he has only been able to make a goal (penalty against Aston Villa) and was substituted in the last two games, including the important match against United in Olf Trafford. Very far from the 22 goals he did the previous year with Lille.

Rabiot (Juve). He arrived free of PSG and after several scuba diving with Barcelona. It seemed that in Turin the young and promising 24-year-old French midfielder could find his place, but he is not counting on just minutes. Only three games, two of them as a starter, and without even the possibility of playing the Champions League. Rabiot was one of those signings at zero cost of the Juventinos, but with Sarri it will be difficult to have a place in the eleven.

Nombomb (Tottenham). The 60 million that Tottenham paid for him to Lyon have not yet translated into a good performance on the field. The spurs go through the worst streak of the Pochettino era and several of the problems lie in the spinal zone in which Ndombelé is not imposing itself. He was substituted for the break in the last match against Brighton and was also retired at a critical moment of the duel against Bayern in the Champions League. Both ended with a win against, so the French international was clearly marked

Malcom (Zenit). Two games just for the Brazilian end of Zenit, which came from Barcelona. Since August 10, he does not play because of an injury that he has right now in the dry dock. As if that were not enough, in the only match he played against his new fans in St. Petersburg he was subject to an unpleasant incident of racism.

Lo Celso (Tottenham). The Argentine was the great bet of Pochettino to give creativity to the midfield. He arrived at Tottenham from Betis for 22 million. However, after being a substitute in his first three games he was injured in a friendly with his team and has not been able to return since then. The injury is expected to be discharged until the end of this month.

Mhkitaryan (Rome). The Armenian does not finish curdling in Rome as given by Arsenal. An injury has prevented him from playing the last games and had not been indisputable before. He scored in his debut against Sassuolo, but from there everything has gotten worse. In this way, he has hardly played four matches in a football like Italian in which it is very important to have continuity for vertical players like him.

Cancelo (City). They are very far 65 million paid by the City to the Juve of the lateral one that is being seen in these first months in the Etihad. His bad game - as a left back - in the loss to Wolverhampton was the icing. It will cost you to start on the right in the presence of Walker. Defensively leaves doubts and is too intermittent.
