Kern Pharma team signs young climber Jon Agirre

The continental category equator has signed the young Basque cyclist, who comes from the Baqué-Ideus BH and who took the mountain jersey on the Tour del Porvenir.

The Kern Pharma team announced on Wednesday the arrival of Jon Agirre in what will be the team's first adventure in the Continental category. Agirre, 22 years old and a native of Zumaia, arrives from Baqué-Ideus BH and in recent months has been the protagonist after winning the classification of the mountain in the Tour del Porvenir, where he was also Top-10 in the mountain days in Méribel and Tignes.

In statements to the team's website, Agirre confessed that he is a "pure climber" and said that in the Tour del Porvenir "I really enjoyed it, it was beautiful and demanding. I was able to demonstrate my potential as a climber and won the classification of the mountain". On his jump to the team Agirre reveals that "it is a dream come true to professionals, especially with a home team that has trusted me and with which I can grow. I hope to contribute as much as possible so that we are a real team, enjoy and let's learn together ".

Agirre is the sixth signing of Kern Pharma for its first Continental adventure following the arrival of Jaime Castrillo from Movistar and Roger Adriá, Kiko Galván, Martín Bouzas and José Félix Parra from the Lizarte team.
