Cristiano Buffon after the Chilean with Madrid: "Not bad for a 33 year old, right?"

"It's hard to grow if you don't play with the best and I wanted to add you to the list of the great champions I've played with," said the goalkeeper.

Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon told an anecdote this Sunday about a brief conversation he had with Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, his friend and current partner in Juventus, seconds after he was marked as Chilean in the 2018 Champions League.

"After about 25 seconds of normal frustration over the goal I received, I thought about what he had done to me, something really nice. And I asked him 'Cristiano, how old are you?' And he told me 'not bad for a 33 year old, right?' We both laughed in the end, "Buffon recalled.

Cristiano signed Buffon's Chilean goal in the first leg of the 2018 Champions League quarterfinals, when he was playing at Real Madrid. The Madrid club would pass the round and be crowned as European champion for the third time in a row in the Kiev final against Liverpool.

The veteran Italian goalkeeper told him this Sunday in his participation in the Trento Sports Festival, organized by La Gazzetta dello Sport, in which he expressed his happiness for having come to share Juventus' costumes with Cristiano.

"At the end of my career I had the chance to play with Cristiano, it's one more value. It's hard to grow if you don't play with the best and I wanted to add him to the list of the great champions I've played with," Buffon said.

"He is an educated boy, you see him for how he behaves with the other classmates. We usually take two or three minutes in the training to speak and for me it has been a pleasure to meet him," he added.

Finally, Buffon expressed the wish that CR7 wins a new Golden Ball in the next few years, then, he argued, that would happen if Juventus won the European Cup.
