Bayern regrets having fired Ancelotti

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, CEO of the club, praised the Italian coach. "I almost cried after announcing this decision, he proved to be a great man."

At the end of September 2017, Bayern Munich decided to flip and dismiss Carlo Ancelotti from the bench. Everything accelerated after a defeat of the German giant against Paris Saint Germain 3-0 in the Champions League. "The performance of our team since the beginning of the season did not meet expectations. The game in Paris clearly demonstrated that decisions had to be made. Hasan Salihamidžić and I talked with Ancelotti and informed him of our decision," said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge , CEO of Bayern.

However, two years later, Rummenigge himself admits that they regret having made that decision. "Carlo has a great character and is a great coach, but in the second season the results were not what we expected. He is an incredibly calm person even in the most difficult moments. We should have waited a little longer before firing him. I almost cried after announcing his decision, he proved to be a great man, "he says to the German press.
