Fabio Quartararo: "It was the best day of my life"

"We have been able to fight with a driver who has been seven times world champion. I hope to have more moments like this this year," says the Frenchman.

For Fabio Quartararo, Misano's racing day was the best of his life, still short, only 20 years old, for the second place achieved and the way he achieved it, battling Marc Márquez until the last lap.

-Do you see yourself as the maximum rival in the future of Márquez?

-No, no, no. I am not weighing on these things yet. We are rookies and I'm getting experience, like today. We are doing the maximum we can do. Today was a spectacular day, the best of my life, because we have been able to fight with a driver who has been seven times world champion. I hope to have more moments like this this year. Apart from the zero he has, Marc's worst result has been a second. He has learned a lot from the past, because he used to win or fall, but now he knows how to manage all this. If at the end of the year they ask you who has won in Argentina, you do not remember, but you do if they ask you who has been the champion and you know perfectly well what it has been Marc.

- What have you learned from running against him the whole race, most of the laps ahead and with the last laps in the last?

-More than him, because I have not seen many things except in the last lap, especially the comparison with last year's race with Bagnaia All the time at my wheel. Then I made no mistake, but this time it was not Bagnaia but Marc who was behind, with the experience of his seven world titles. I have not made any mistakes and that is very positive, because he is the but pilot you can have behind you. I have made almost no mistake and that is something that can give me a lot of confidence, as well as having happened for the first time in curve four, which has been really handsome.

- What do you think he says he has deserved winning and what do you see winning a race already this year?

-I feel proud to hear words like this from a seven-time world champion, almost eight. We are improving every time we get on the bike, learning more, working in a super good way with the team. Each time we understand each other more and my mechanic boss knows exactly what I want, when I need more or less engine brake and I return from training and I know where I want more or less power. We're almost ready to be ahead 444444
