Morocco is interested in the Tour of Spain

As AS learned, an expedition from the North African country values the possibilities of a firm project in the future. An old aspiration is a way out in North Africa.

A revolutionary project that has been hanging around Javier Guillén, director of Vuelta, for many years is organizing a departure of the Spanish grand from North Africa, for which one way or another must have the collaboration or involvement of Morocco. Well, as you could tell AS, an expedition from the North African country has been in Alicante these days following the start of the race at Costa Blanca. This is a first contact with an intermediary agency to assess the possibilities of a firm project in the future. So far, they have been as observers and have been pleasantly surprised, while they have had contact with the organization to be interested in the details of an event of this magnitude.

The Tour has come three times from abroad: the first was from Lisboa in 1997, then Assen in 2009 and Nîmes in 2017. The fourth will be next year, Utrecht, whose delegation was already seen two years ago in the departure from France. In 2021, as AS has already reported, a start in the national territory is practically closed: Burgos.
