Eider Merino and Sheyla Gutiérrez lead Movistar in the Giro Rosa

The Biscayan will be the great asset for the fight for the general and the mountain stages, while the Rioja will fight for the triumph in the arrivals to the sprint.

The Movistar team announced on Tuesday its list of six runners for the Giro Rosa, the most demanding race of the season in the UCI Women's World Tour and that will be played from Monday to Sunday 14 on the highways of the transalpine country.

The Biscayan Eider Merino will be the main asset of Movistar to fight for the general and mountain stages. The Balmaseda was eighth in the classification last year and finished in fourth position in the demanding day of Monte Zoncolan.

For Plain stages Sheyla Gutiérrez will be the great asset of the telephone equipment. The riojana, champion of Spain against the clock, already knows what it is to win a stage in the Italian round after achieving it in 2017 and hopes to add her first partial victory with the team in the Giro Rosa. Beside it will be the Polish Malgorzata Jasinska, who will fight to get into the escapades in search of stage victories.

The Movistar team is for the Giro Rosa the Spanish Gloria Rodríguez, which will be key on the plain, the French Aude Biannic and the Colombian Paula Patiño, who will debut in the Italian round at 22 years.
