Bonera announces his retirement: "My heart will always be groguet"

Daniele Bonera has announced his retirement from professional soccer. As AS advanced, the center had a renewal offer from Villarreal, but opted to reject it to hang up the boots and dar the jump to the benches. The club, aware of his intention to change roles, had offered to continue as a player while assistant Javi Calleja.

However, the Italian had another idea in mind, as announced in his farewell letter: "Step page in my career, to start with great enthusiasm a new project as a new member of the coaching staff at AC Milan.It is time to face new challenges, goals and illusions" .
