An eye for an eye: the Warriors lose KD and sign D'Angelo Russell

The Warriors give one of the surprises of the market with the acquisition of the base of the Nets, who give it through a transfer.

The Warriors have renewed Klay Thompson for the maximum, but it has not been enough. They needed another player to cover the loss of Kevin Durant, who has decided to go to the Nets, and continue to aspire to almost everything in the NBA. And so it has been: they will sign D'Angelo Russell, which was precisely in the Nets.

The salary space left by Durant has been key to making room for Russell. Shams Charania first reported his arrival and Adrian Wojnarowski of the figures: 117 million dollars for 4 seasons for the young player.

The operation is a sign & trade, meaning that Russell will sign with the Nets and will be immediately traded. More agents enter the mixture. Andre Iguodala, MVP of the 2015 Finals, moves from the Warriors to the Grizzlies along with three first-round draft picks (2024, 2025 and 2026). Memphis, as Bobby Marks points out, is worth that salary thanks to the transfer exception created after Conley's transfer to the Jazz. Treveon Graham and Shabazz Napier also leave the Nets to the Warriors.
