The Warriors renew Myers, the architect of the dynasty

Golden State announced the renewal of Bob Myers as General Manager of the franchise; the manager has been mainly responsible for the success of the franchise.

The Golden State Warriors have renewed Bob Myers as General Manager. The manager will continue to be linked to the franchise in the coming years thanks to the multi-year contract he has signed with his team since 2011. In addition, the La Bahía team has also announced the continuity of Rick Welts, President of Operations.

Myers is the architect of the warrior dynasty. Since arriving in San Francisco in 2011, the manager has made the team one of the best of all time and the great dominator of the last five years. He was responsible for the transfer of Monta Ellis to the Bucks, which in his day was very controversial and caused some protests among fans of the Oracle Arena. However, it was shown that the decision was successful in the long run. With coach Mark Jackson, the franchise was one of the most competitive in the West making the playoffs several years in a row led by David Lee and a young Stephen Curry.

Suya was also the choice of Draymond Green in 35th place of the second round of the 2012 draft. A real robbery that meant the discovery of one of the best defenders of the moment and one of the men who forms an essential part of the backbone of the squad.

After falling in the first round of the 2014 playoffs, Mayers made the decision to fire Mark Jackson and hire then-rookie coach Steve Kerr as coach of the team. Another decision that did not leave everyone happy. Jackson had managed to make Golden State a competitive team, and Kerr had no experience in the league benches.

Again, Myers showed great vision and the arrival of Kerr was a turning point for the franchise. The 2015 ring reported to the General Manager his first award as Executive of the Year. After the defeat in the Finals of 2016, the manager managed to sign Kevin Durant, causing a new earthquake in the League. Adjusting salaries, the squad worked perfectly and achieved a new championship in 2017. Mayers was Executive of the Year again.

The Warriors repeated ring in 2018 and fell in the last Finals against the Raptors and with Cousins in the team, another signing of Myers. Of course, the franchise, which awaits a complicated summer, has decided to renew its great architect to solve the next transfer market and power, therefore, continue with the dynasty. The manager must renew Klay Thompson and see what he does with Kevin Durant, who has renounced the player option and will be a free agent starting on July 1st. It is one of the biggest dilemmas of the whole of San Francisco. Offer the maximum to a player who has given two championships but who is injured Achilles tendon is still a risk for any team in the NBA.

Remember that, a although the Warriors have been harshly criticized in recent times, always have been adjusted to the parameters of the League. Curry, Thompson and Green are rounds of the draft, while Durant and Cousins have arrived and have earned salaries that are in line with the rules of the competition. Three rings and five Finals for a team that has had Bob Myers as the great architect.
