Rossi joins the DTM challenge

The Italian has accepted the proposal of the promoter of the competition, having previously resigned to a duel with Dovizioso in Misano.

Of the numerous Rossi-Dovizioso that have been seen on the asphalt, the one that could be contested in the DTM would have been without a doubt the most unusual of all. With the Ducati man confirmed as a participant for Misano's appointment as guest pilot of Audi, which ended in a meritorious twelfth, Gerhard Berger also tempted Valentino to fight a new battle against his compatriot, which, Tavullia had to reject due to his contract with Yamaha in the queen class.

El The promoter's dream was "to have Valentino in BMW and to Dovizioso in Audi" and he made a nod to the future, which seems to have caught his message. Coinciding with the debut of the Ducati rider at the DTM, Rossi gave his word to the presenter of 'Sat.1', Andrea Kaiser, that soon he will also be part of the competition: "Berger invited me to Misano, but unfortunately not I could go there I'll be there soon ".

The last words left open the doubt of whether I would do it as a spectator or as a pilot. And immediately settled any question: "Yes, I will come as a pilot". Not another detail. At the moment, Valentino has only secured his presence in the next events of a competition with which he had previously had contact. The Italian tested a Mercedes from the DTM in 2006 and will have to spend a little more time to see him get on another one of those cars as his next challenge on four wheels will be at 12 o'clock in Abu Dhabi, at the wheel of a Ferrari 488 GT3 with his friend Uccio and his brother Luca Marini.
