Monument to Luis Salom in the curve of his tragic accident

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has erected a monolith in memory of the Mallorcan, who died in the free practice of Moto2 on June 3, 2016.

Venir to Montmeló, on the occasion of the GP of Catalonia MotoGP, means irredeemably remembering Luis Salom, who died on June 3, 2016, the result of a fall in turn 13 in the afternoon free practice of Moto2. The Mallorcan pilot is in the memory of all and since this year's edition the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya honors his memory with a beautiful monument in his honor.

It has been erected a monolito developed by the design studio Grib Producciones, with the signature of Javier Conde. It is located next to the mural that was put in his day with the photo of Luis, in which the public stamps his signature and dedication with his photo and the already famous logo LS39 Always.

What has not been, nor will there be , is an official opening by express desire of the family. Maria Horrach, Luis's mother and her inseparable travel companion, she really wants to thank those responsible for the circuit for the detail she has had, especially her director, Joan Fontseré. He does it in a telephone conversation with As from Palma de Mallorca: "I want to thank this monolith dedicated to my son to the people of the circuit, to his director and, above all, to the fans and to the people who loved Luis and who during all these years he has been asking for something to be done in memory of Luis ".
