Mas and Fuglsang will lead Astana and Deceuninck in the Tour

The Mallorcan will be the leader of the Belgian team to fight for the general, while the Danish will be the leader of an Astana with four Spaniards.


Enric Mas will make his debut in the Tour de France as Deceuninck Quick-Step's leader. The Belgian team has confirmed on Wednesday the Majorcan as his main asset for the general of the Grande Boucle in his list of eight cyclists for the carrera.

Mas will not have much support to fight for the classification within his team, since the Dane Kasper Asgreen, third in the Tour of California, would be presented as the only gregarious at his disposal. The squad of Patrick Léfevere will also seek to be protagonist in the montaña, in leaks and in the arrivals in walls with Julian Alaphilippe, winner of the classification of the mountain in the Tour of 2018.

Although the Deceuninck Quick-Step itself will be protagonist in the massive arrivals where Elia Viviani is shaping up as one of the favorites to beat in the sprints.
