Llamas and Mintegi, the juniors who survive, in eighth

The Jerez-born junior (16 years) won the French Mayot (6-2 and 6-4), while the Gipuzkoa, a year younger, got rid of the American Noel (6-4 and 6-1). Gimeno and Custic fell.

Pablo Llamas and Ane Mintegi are the only two Spanish promises that survived the second round of the Roland Garros junior tournament on Tuesday. They are left alone for the second round by the casualties of Marta Custic, 17, who could not with the Canadian Leylah Fernandez (6-0 and 6-3), and Carlos Gimeno, who yielded by 6-2 and 6- 4 before the Argentine Thiago Tirante, 18 years old like him.
