Hard picture for Muguruza and Suarez with Barty, Kerber and Serena on the horizon

The Venezuelan-Spanish will debut against Brazil's Haddad Maia and could face the Australian in the third round. Carla Suárez will debut with Stosur and could meet with Kerber.

A very difficult squad for Garbiñe Muguruza and Carla Suárez in Wimbledon. The draw that took place this morning in London has led to a complicated road for Spanish tennis players with many important rivals.

Muguruza will debut against the Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia and in a hypothetical third round could see the faces with Ashleigh Barty, current champion of Roland Garros and current number 1 in the world. In the case of moving to eighths Garbiñe could be measured with the Swiss Belinda Bencic.

In the same quadrant is Carla Suárez, who will debut against the Australian Samantha Stosur and could cross in the second round with Maria Sharapova before a hypothetical showdown in third round with Angelique Kerber, current champion of Wimbledon. In the case of beating Kerber, Suarez could be measured at Serena Williams in the quarterfinals. On the same side that Serena Williams will go Paula Badosa, who will debut against the Russian Varvara Flink and could be in the second round with Julia Goerges.

In the lower part of that half of the picture will go Kiki Bertens and Petra Kvitova, who could fight each other for a place in the semifinals in the quarterfinals.

For the other side of the draw the draw has provided us with some very interesting crosses in the second round. The number 2 in the world, Naomi Osaka, could be measured with Caroline Wozniacki, who will debut against Spanish Sara Sorribes. Simona Halep could be seen with Aryna Sabalenka, Elina Svitolina could be crossed with Anastasija Sevastova and Karolina Pliskova could be cited with his compatriot Marketa Vondrousova. On this side of the picture we can also see one of the highlights of this first round between the young American Coco Gauff, 15, and Wimbledon five-time champion Venus Williams, who will seek his sixth title at 39 years. The winner of this crossing will be in the second round possibly with Aryna Sabalenka.
