Betis: the Rubi era begins and another Serra era can end

The Catalan coach will be presented very soon and the Balearic decide whether to continue as sports vice president of the entity.

Decisive hours for the development of the Betis project with the presentation of Joan Francesc Ferrer Rubi as coach and with the possible departure of Lorenzo Serra Ferrer, who holds the position of sports vice president. Rubi will officially begin his career in the Benito Villamarín giving his first impressions to the press and will have to see if it is precisely Serra who sits on his right and introduces him into society. There will be the key.

Serra went this past weekend to Mallorca to reflect on what would be a new status in Betis, cut from its executive functions and with a more consultative role in which the quarry would no longer enter. The Balearic maintains for months a confrontation with the other verdiblanco vice-president, José Miguel López Catalán, that has intensified with the departure of Quique Setién and that these last days worsened if possible.

The Betis fans have it very clear in a Majority percentage: he wants to follow that of San Pobla, the most important coach in his history and a crucial character in the sporting evolution of the club in recent decades. He already left twice from Heliopolis and then returned. If it goes again, the future on the lawn will be unknown, but another reality will emerge: a large institutional crisis.
