The Spaniards in the Giro: Mikel Landa touches the podium

The Alava runner is less than 1 minute away from the third position that Roglic defends. Víctor De la Parte was present at the day's escape.

Very satisfactory match for the spanoles in the Giro d'Italia, especially for the men of Movistar Team. Mikel Landa returned to show in a day of mountain and surpassed in goal in 19 seconds to Roglic and Nibali, reason why already is less than 1 minute of the podium. Among the rest of runners, Víctor De la Parte sought prominence in the day's flight, but he lacked strength in the final climb.

That's how it was for the Spaniards in the 17th stage of the Giro d'Italia 2019

Víctor de la Parte (13º) : the CCC corridor was the best Spanish of the day. He was very good in flight, but he lacked strength in the last climb.

Mikel Landa (19th): the Alava was the best of the favorites. He attacked in the last kilometers and cut Roglic 19 seconds in the fight for the podium.

Mikel Nieve (28º): the Mitchelton corridor was seen on another mountain day and wrapped up its leader, Simon Yates.

Rubén Plaza ( 48º): the Alicante was two minutes away from the favorites in goal. Its best stage in the mountain in what goes of Giro.

Antonio Pedrero (51º): another good day for the gregarious luxury of Landa and Carapaz in Movistar. He remained close to his two leaders, but he left before the last port to save forces.

José Joaquín Rojas (66º): good work for their leaders in the most favorable sections between ports.

Hector Carretero (68º): arrived almost from the hand of Rojas. Always attentive in the mountains of Carapaz and Landa.

Ion Izagirre (70º): the Basque runner still can not find the best sensations, who could not help his leader, Superman López, on another mountain day.

Pello Bilbao (77º) ): same case as Ion Izagirre, although Bilbao was seen closer to its leader at some moments of the day.

Francisco José Ventoso (107th): day without incidents for the CCC corridor.

Juan José Lobato (110th): remained in the peloton without spending too much energy.

Markel Irizar (120º): wrapped up its leader, Bauke Mollema, in the initial leg of the stage.

Lluís Mas (131º): like the rest of his teammates of Movistar, another productive day in gregarious work.
