The fourth stage, which a priori seemed a quiet day for the favorites, was finally decisive for the future of the race. Dumoulin, no options.


The fourth stage of the Giro will mark the rest of the race in this edition. Richard Carapaz (of Movistar) won after a fall, six kilometers from the finish line, completely broke the peloton. The most injured was Tom Dumoulin. The Dutch caught the fall and ended up with physical problems, leaving four minutes in goal.
