Rossi: the king who will try to win back 'his Mugiello'

The Italian has not won the Tuscan track for 11 years despite being, with 9, the most wins in this track of the whole grid.

MotoGP prepares to host one of the most colorful prizes of the year, although there is a color that floods everything. Yellow has invaded Mugello, turning the Italian route into the sanctuary of Valentino Rossi and his 'tifosi', and that is why Tavullia decided one day to baptize him as 'Mugiallo', playing with Mugello and yellow (in Italian). In what is the great festival of transalpine motorcycling, 'Il Dottore' is the current grille of the queen class who has won more victories on the track of the tuscany after leaving recorded great performances with which managed to drive the masses crazy to become in the king.

Rossi maintained an idyllic relationship with 'his Mugiello' from 2002 to 2008. The Italian was a prophet in his homeland chaining 7 consecutive wins and signing the third best streak followed by history on the same track, second only to Agostini in Imatra (9 times) and Spa (8 times). However, in 2009 Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo cut their roll, assuming the beginning of the end in a relationship that experienced its most tragic moment in the appointment of 2010. The pilot of Tavullia suffered in the second free of that edition a fall that meant, next to Motorland 2017, his worst injury so far: double fracture of the tibia and fibula. From then on, the magic of the 'Il Dottore' in the Italian track disappeared to accumulate a new streak: the one of 11 seasons without winning the victory.

Everything that the Tuscan route had given to Valentino until then, vanished to give way to new deeds of others. But for 'Il dottore' always "it's a pleasure that the time of Mugello arrives" . After Montmeló and Assen, where he signed his last victory, is in this circuit where the Tavullia rider has achieved the most triumphs with a total of 9 and now, he will try to round up to a figure that he could also reach at the end of the season. Rossi arrives home fully in the fight for the title and with a Yamaha that is not bad and also, at the brand level, is the one that has won the most in this track, achieving 10 top positions with the five consecutive of the Italian (2004-2008) and Jorge Lorenzo (2011-2016) .

However, despite the dominance of the Iwata, for this edition the Ducati sound like great favorites in a track where they have only won three times in the last 10 years. The 1,141 meters of straight of the Italian track allow to overcome the 350 km / h of speed and the engine, as it already confessed after the test of Le Mans, is not the best trick of the Iwata: "There is a very long straight and that will be our weak point ". With Yamaha firm in its philosophy of prioritizing in the chassis, the Desmosedici will try to repeat the dominance that it signed in the last two years with the intention that its pair puts in check the leader of the MotoGP. A Marc Márquez that is the other threat of the nine times champion for this appointment.

With those of Bologna and the current leader as great rivals, Rossi will give everything and will fight, at least, to be on the podium: "It is A track that I really like, but will be difficult because they all go very fast.If we work well, we can defend ourselves. We have to do everything possible to be competitive and give the maximum ". The bells of Tavullia are ready to sound again, 'Il Dottore' already managed to rise from its ashes after a time to forget in Ducati and the one who became king wants to regain his throne. It is able to keep winning and above all, we can not forget that this legend that is known as Valentino Rossi always surprises.
