Rocchi will whistle the Europa League final between Chelsea and Arsenal

Italian Gianluca Rocchi will referee the final of the 2019 Europa League between Chelsea and Arsenal to be played at the Baku Olympic Stadium (Azerbaijan), the UEFA Referees Committee announced today in a statement.

This will be the first UEFA Europa League final for Rocchi, international since 2008.

The Italian will be accompanied by his compatriots Filippo Meli and Lorenzo Manganelli as line judges in the Baku final, while Daniele Orsato will assume the role of fourth official. Rocchi, who this season has kicked six Champions League games, was in charge of the final of the European Supercup that faced al Real Madrid and Manchester United in 2017, won by the white team, and also whistled the match between the selections of Portugal and Spain (3-3) in the World Cup in Russia last summer.
