Mercedes warns: "We have a lot of potential left to squeeze"

Toto Wolff confirms that the Brixworth engineers are working hard on the second power unit that will debut in the Canadian GP.

"We are only in the fifth race and we still have a lot of potential to squeeze out of the car, which is why we also followed this path, believing that with the front wing concept that we follow, there is more potential in the long term with the risk of suffering in the short term. There are still steps in the power to come, but they will not be huge steps like we've seen in the past, however is working hard for the second engine. On getting more performance from the chassis, I think we still have good ideas ", says Wolff.

In this sense, the race director of Mercedes recognizes in 'Race Fans' that his main concern each race is to improve the speed of the car with respect to the previous test: "I think it's about developing the car, of staying strong with the developments. All we are trying to do is to add performance from one weekend to another in the hardware and software part, but also in the understanding of the car, the configuration and the tires ".
