FIFA studies sponsoring VAR downtime

According to Carrusel Deportivo, a FIFA study says that they stop 27 minutes per game. LaLIga believes that they could earn between 50 and 100 million.

According to the Cadena SER announced in its program Carrusel Deportivo, FIFA is studying sponsoring the VAR, in particular, the downtime that exists in each game due to the revisions of the plays. This option has been well received since LaLiga, where they think they could win between 50 and 100 million euros to advertise those stoppages.

Fifa, according to a study of its own, estimates that there is an average of 27 minutes per transmission with football stopped and the VAR as protagonist, and that time they want to make it profitable.

In the moment that FIFA gives green light to this proposal, later in Spain would have to agree with Luis Rubiales and Javier Tebas, presidents of the Federation and LaLiga. The bitter battle between the two is well known, but in this case an agreement between the parties would provide benefits to both.
