Auger-Aliassime will be Rafa Nadal's first rival in Madrid

The youngster from Montreal (18 years old) won the other Canadian NextGen, Shapovalov (21 years old), and will meet Rafa in the second round of the Mutua Madrid Open.

The Mutua Madrid Open men's draw drew on Friday a cross between two insultingly young and promising Canadians: Felix Auger-Aliassime, 18, and Denis Shapovalov, 21. And in the race to become tennis's great hope of his country, it seems that for the moment takes the lead the first, that knocked down his compatriot in two sets (6-2 and 7-6 (5)).

Políglota, of Togolese origin and born on August 8 as Roger Federer, Auger-Aliassime already knows what it is to play a semifinals of Masters 1,000 (this year in Miami, with defeat to Isner) and an ATP 500 final (lost in Rio de Janeiro before Djere) and is second in the race to the NextGen Finals, the Masters for sub-21 players. This Wednesday, he will face Rafael Nadal for the first time in his career, in the second round of the Madrid event, which will mark the Balearic's debut at the Caja Mágica.
