1000 Masters of Rome 2019: table and results

Check here the table and results of the 1000 Masters of Rome, which takes place from May 12 to 19 at the Foro Italico in the Italian capital with Nadal, Federer, Halep ...

The premiere of Rafa Nadal at the 1000 Masters in Rome will have a French flavor. Because Nadal has been paired for his debut, which will be in the second round (he is exempt from the first as one of the first eight heads of series), against the winner of the duel between Richard Gasquet and Jeremy Chardy. To advance, Nadal could find in the eighth to the 14th favorite, Basilashvili; in fourth to fifth, Dominic Thiem (will start against Verdasco or Edmund), or 11th, Khachanov, and in the semifinals to Roger Federer (against Sousa or Tiafoe) or Stefanos Tsitsipas (against Sinner), who also have Fognini in their quadrant and Coric, other heads of series. Roberto Bautista, who beat Seppi and will face Khachanov or Sonego in the second round, is the other Spaniard on that side.

For the opposite sector will pass the brand new Mutua Madrid Open champion and number one circuit Novak Djokovic. The Serbian could be measured in the first round with a Spaniard Pablo Carreño, or with the Canadian Denis Shapovalov. Then he could have the 16th favorite, Cecchinato, in the second round. Already in rooms Del Potro (will debut against Goffin or Wawrinka), is the most feasible option and in the semifinals could run into Sacha Zverev (with Berrettini at its premiere) or Kei Nishikori (against Pella or one of the qualy in his first game), with Marin Cilic and Gael Monfils as alternatives.

Osaka and Kvitova lead the women's

In the WTA box, a sector will be led by number one and first favorite of the tournament, Japan's Naomi Osaka. Osaka will start in the second round against the winner of Sasnovich-Cibulkova. On their way to the final, the most feasible hypotheses would be a showdown with Goerges (starting against Hsieh) in the second round, with the surprising Madrid champion Kiki Bertens (against Anisimova or Cocciaretto) in the quarterfinals and with Halep (against Strycova or Vondrousova) or Stephens (against Konta or Riske). Among the Spaniards, Carla Suárez will have Yastremska in the first round.

The other sector will be headed by the Czech Petra Kvitova, second favorite. If she progresses in Rome, Kvitova, who will premiere before Tsurenko or Putintseva, would measure herself if there are no surprises with Kontaveit (debut against Barthel) in the second round, with Sevastova (against Bencic) or Barty (against Kuzmova or Sara Errani) in the quarterfinals, and with Pliskova (against Tomljanovic or Zidansek) or Svitolina (against Zhang or Azarenka) in the semifinals. Garbiñe Muguruza is the Spaniard who goes through this sector and will start before Saisai Zheng.
