Villarreal and Valencia face the derby in 'shock'

The last league days in the yellows; and the defeat in Vallecas with injury of Kondogbia in the che, have left to the contenders touched before the European appointment.

He started the week of the European derby and did it with the two bruised contenders. It's up to get up on both sides after two rounds in the weekend that have made Villarreal and Valencia reach the Europa League game in shock. It is true that there are still three days left for the continental duel but the aftermath of the week previous could say things in the duel on Thursday.

Villarreal is the most touched. I have missed three games in seven days that have condemned him to relegation places. And which of them more cruel. First, Celta came back from 0-2 at Balaídos; three days later, Barça beat him the victory when he won 4-2 in the discount; and on Sunday the misfortune of the failed penalty Cazorla deprived him of scratching at least one point in the Villamarín.

Tododo went much better in Valencia four days ago. But the weekend has been calamitous. The defeat in Vallecas, with a bad image, caused the crack of Marcelino. To make matters worse, the rivals for the Champions won and Getafe is already two games, again. And perhaps, worst of all, lesion Kondogbia, which had to be operated on the afternoon of Sunday of emergency and that practically will miss the rest of the season, except miraculous recovery. He was one of the best in the last matches.

Also, Calleja and Marcelino have three days to recompose the figure of their teams and go to the stadium of La Cerámica to compete for a gap in the semifinals of the Europa League, before trying to reverse the situation in LaLiga.

Again the dilemma of Villarreal: Europe or focus on LaLiga

Al Villarreal comes again the dilemma of how to face the European competition, which is close to a semifinal. The importance of the game and playing with Valencia requires not to let go, but the situation in the domestic competition makes the game look with different eyes. The team needs the points of the League to come out of the descent, which forces them to focus their efforts on that competition. A dilemma that the team already had in the two previous qualifiers, in which the team played tranquility in the championship or continue in Europe. The idea of the technician in those meetings was to bet on an eleven with rotations, giving rest to the usual players. Curiously, a bet that besides being competitive, allowed to eliminate teams like Sporting Lisbon and Zenit.. So it is logical that, in a situation of greater urgency than the previous ones, the idea is the same and even with more changes . And is that the need for results, are added to the losses due to injury (Bruno, Trigueros, Jaume Costa, Bonera and Llambrich), which still complicates everything else.
