Valverde summons all heavyweights except Rakitic

The only surprise of the call for the game against Alavés is the absence of the Croatian midfielder. The novelty: the inclusion of Vermaelen after receiving the discharge.

A nobody is missing that Ernesto Valverde is eager to finalize LaLiga to put all five senses in the Champions. El Barcelona coach is aware that he can finish the championship this same day if luck does not turn his back, since he needs to win at Alavés in Vitoria on Tuesday and Valencia do the same on Wednesday against Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano.

Valverde created a list of 18 players where there was only one outstanding surprise: the absence of Ivan Rakitic. It was clear that the Croatian needed a break - he was the player most used by Valverde this season - and the coach has decided that the time has come.

In fact, the only novelty on the list is the inclusion of Thomas Vermaelen, after receiving medical discharge after training.

All points that could enter the team Sergi Roberto, Arturo Vidal, Sergio Busquets and Coutinho, while they could rest players like Semedo or Dembélé, apart from the already safe rest is Rakitic. In any case, the 'corpus' of the eleven holder would remain.

The discards are again the usual in the last calls: Todibo, Murillo and Boateng, by technical decision, and Rafinha, by injury.

The list of 18 players for the match against Alaves in the following: Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Semedo, Sergi Roberto, Umtiti, Piqué, Lenglet, Alba, Sergio Busquets, Vermaelen, Arthur, Arturo Vidal, Aleñá, Malcom, Dembélé, Coutinho, Suárez and Messi.
